Over time it gets worse so you need to check it regularly so you know when to get a replacement. Your drill battery is also fine if the multimeter measurement is about a volt lower than the drill battery label, but if the measurement is more than 1 volt lower your battery is losing its charge. It reads the same as the output voltage on the drill battery label if the battery is fully charged and in good condition. Place the metal prong on the end of the red wire from the multimeter onto the terminal labeled '+ve.' Place the prong on the end of the black wire from the multimeter onto the terminal labeled 'Gnd.'Ĭheck the voltage measurement on the multimeter display.
